Amazon

Paperback and Kindle

Note that this book contains no fewer than 220 high-quality, curated photographs, black-in-white in the printed versions, but in the Kindle they are in glorious color, reflecting Peace Corps experiences as well as Libyan culture and history.

The book includes hundreds of Peace Corps stories, deftly embroidered into the narrative. Many of the volunteers were in Tripoli or Benghazi and others were posted deep in the Libyan desert. The Libyan Revolution and the volunteers'

challenges around it, including Ghaddafi proclaiming that they were all CIA spies. Broader historical elements are included, such as Rommel (whose name means "sand" in Arabic), Churchill, Montgomery and even Alexander the Great who visited the Siwa Oasis in the Libyan Desert.
